The LEMENE project is one of 11 key energy projects in 2017 that have been granted an investment aid from MEAE. The total amount of aid allocated for key energy projects in 2017 is EUR 39.7 million, of which the LEMENE project has been granted EUR 4.74 million. The Government has decided to allocate a total of EUR 100 million for renewable energy and new technology investments for 2016 to 2018. The investment aid is intended for future energy solutions so that Finland can achieve its national targets and the targets laid down at EU level for 2030.
Lempäälä's Local Council has guaranteed EUR 9.7 million worth of loans for investment purposes.
Council of Tampere Region funded the research in part. In addition, Tampere University of Technology and Tampere University of Applied Sciences as well as multiple businesses have taken part in the development process.
